Birds Eye Cod Cakes with McCann Home Chips
As I’m away on holiday and don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen cooking, I thought it would be fun and simple to have a very child-like dinner – frozen fishcakes, oven chips, and peas/corn. The limited shop nearby had Birds Eye Cod Cakes, so that’s what we had. They were pretty awful. They are much smaller than they appear in the photo, and are a mush of potato with absolutely no detectable fish to be found (despite the first ingredient being minced cod 45% – it must have been VERY minced, or even pureed). What a waste of calories! The McCann Home Chips were pretty delicious, and you can’t go wrong with buttery peas and corn. But I don’t think i’ll be having these fish cakes again anytime soon.
